The Garrison Savannah Racetrack (5 minute walk)
Barbados is home to one of the old­est race tracks in the Americas – The Garrison Savannah. Horse racing in Barbados dates back as far as 1845 when Barbados was part of the British Empire. Today horse races are organ­ised by The Barbados Turf Club and they run most Saturdays through­out the year. It’s also fun to stroll down to the race track early in the morn­ing to watch the horses get­ting their morn­ing exer­cise. Don’t miss the premier event, The Sandy Lane Gold Cup race which takes place every March. Race enthu­si­asts can wit­ness horses at their best and his­tory in the mak­ing.

The Barbados Museum (5 minute walk)
You can dis­cover the unique his­tory and cul­ture of Barbados with a visit to the Barbados Museum, which is loc­ated within easy walk­ing dis­tance from the hotel.

George Washington House (5 minute walk)
The young George Washington and his ail­ing brother Lawrence resided in this his­toric plant­a­tion house, also known as Bush Hill House, for two months in 1751. Barbados was the only coun­try ever vis­ited by the future “First Father” of his coun­try and Bush Hill House the only house he ever lived in out­side of the con­tin­ental United States. The house has been beau­ti­fully restored and is well worth a visit. George Washington House is loc­ated within easy walk­ing dis­tance from the hotel, adja­cent to the Garrison Savannah race Track.

St. Lawrence Gap (5 minute drive)
The St. Lawrence Gap, is argu­ably the most pop­u­lar enter­tain­ment dis­trict on the island. Enjoy a wide vari­ety of world class res­taur­ants, local bars and night­life. Live bands fea­tured sev­eral nights each week.

Oistins (15 minute drive)
Oistins is a tra­di­tional Bajan fish­ing vil­lage, which is trans­formed every Friday night into a melt­ing pot of cul­ture, music and authen­tic Caribbean food. Oistins, is great for meet­ing, mix­ing, ming­ling and party­ing the night away in true Caribbean style.

Historic Bridgetown (10 minute drive)
Bridgetown is the cap­ital of Barbados. Bridgetown boasts the third old­est par­lia­ment build­ings and the old­est Jewish syn­agogue in the west­ern hemi­sphere as well as a statue of Lord Nelson, which pred­ates the Trafalfar Square statue in London. Bridgetown also offers excel­lent duty free shop­ping, espe­cially on jew­ellery, fra­grances and liquor.

Sheraton Mall (10 minute drive)
Sheraton Mall is the mall that has it all…the largest mall on the island with over 120 local and duty free stores, a mul­ti­plex cinema and Food Court. Free park­ing and late shop­ping avail­able from Monday to Saturday until 9pm.

Globe Drive-In (10 minute drive)
The only open air cinema in Barbados. It is a pop­u­lar hangout for all ages, espe­cially on week­ends. The atmo­sphere is lively and fun with all the horn-honking and com­ments com­ing from cars, while still hav­ing that romantic set­ting of the clear starry sky and cool­ing breeze.
