Updated Barbados Covid-19 Protocols

Effective October 1st, 2020 the government of Barbados revised the island’s travel protocols and all guests arriving from high and medium risk countries will have restricted access until a second negative covid-19 test result has been received. Please see important information below regarding these updated protocols. Please kindly note that all hotel guests will be required to adhere to these mandatory safety protocols while staying with us. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us, we are happy to help you anytime. 


GUESTS (RESTRICTED ACCESS): All arriving guests will be comfortably accomodated in our newly renovated Ocean View Rooms until the second consecutive test result is received. While waiting for a second negative test result, guests will have restricted access around the hotel property. Breakfast will be served at Cocos Beachside Restaurant between 7am-8am only. Lunch will be served on the pool deck or at Cocos between 12noon and 4pm. Guests are not permitted to use the beach, Captain Charlies Beach Bar or Jakes Island Grille. Guests are permitted to use the swimming pool, and pool deck areas. Guests can also visit the activities desk, the hotel lobby and gift shop, but we ask that guests please do so briefly and only when necessary. The wrist band should not be tampered with or removed at any time. It will be removed by a member of the Front Desk team upon official receipt of a second negative test result. Guests will not be permitted to leave the hotel premises.


GUESTS (SECOND CONSECUTIVE TEST RESULT): Guests must present official proof of second consecutive negative test result to the Front Desk. A photocopy of the test result will be made and kept on file. The wrist band will be removed, and guests will now be free to use the beach areas, Captain Charlies Beach Bar and Jakes Island Grille. Breakfast will be served at Cocos Beachside Restaurant between 8:30am-10am only. Lunch will be served at Captain Charlies Beach Bar. Guests can also visit the activities desk, the hotel lobby and gift shop. Guests can now leave the hotel premises at any time. Guests will be prohibited from using the swimming pool or pool deck areas. These areas are reserved for restricted access guests only.


SECOND COVID-19 TEST: Guests will be contacted by an official from the local Ministry of Health & Wellness to schedule the second Covid-19 test. This second test will be carried out four to five days from the date of the first test (date of your first test counts as day zero). This test will be conducted at the local government clinic in our local area. The date, time and location of the test will be communicated to guests by the Front Desk team. Please note that the government test is conducted free of charge.


PRIVATE TESTING OPTION: Private testing is also available at the hotel Monday to Saturday at 9:30am. There will be no tests done on Sundays. The cost for each test is US$142.50 and this can be charged to your guest room folio. No test reservation is required. Guests will receive their test results within 24 hours. Please note this cost is for the doctor and labratory fees. Coconut Court Beach Hotel does not financially benefit in anyway.


SAFETY PROTOCOLS:  Guests are kindly asked to avoid hugging and shaking hands. Please maintain a minimum of three-foot space between yourself and other guests, not in your party to help minimize the spread of illness. We ask that you take extra precautions regarding washing & sanitizing your hands. Guests are kindly asked to utilise the hand sanitizer provided in all public areas. Our staff will be sanitizing and cleaning all areas of the hotel throughout the day. In an abundance of caution, we kindly ask that you refrain from convening in groups in public areas around the hotel.   


FACE COVERING REQUIREMENT:  In accordance with the WHO and CDC guidelines Coconut Court Beach Hotel requires that all guests wear face coverings in public areas of the hotel where social distancing is not possible.


CLEANING PROTOCOLS: With safety and cleanliness being the hallmarks of our hospitability, we are pleased to advise that we have enhanced our sanitation and safety protocols with state-of-the-art electrostatic sprayers for safe, hospital grade disinfection in our public areas and guestrooms. We are committed to the safety of our guests and our team members.


POOL & BEACH PROTOCOLS: The swimming pool and pool deck are reserved for restricted access guests only. The beach and Captain Charlies Beach Bar are reserved for guests that have received their second negative result guests only. Beach towels will be provided in your guest room. Please take these to the pool or beach and use it when reclining on the lounges. The beach team has ensured that our pool lounges and furniture are arranged to allow for social distancing while relaxing during the day. Please do not rearrange the furniture, however, we are happy to place chairs for you upon request.


AMENITIES AND SERVICES AROUND THE HOTEL: Please note that due to the Covid-19 pandemic, we have been experiencing unprecedented challenges while we have been closed for the past five months.  As a result, while we remain committed to offering you the very best beach holiday in Barbados, we have had no choice but to scale back our services, amenities, and entertainment activities at this time.  We thank you for understanding our current situation. 


COCOS BEACHSIDE RESTAURANT & CAPTAIN CHARLIES BEACH BAR: Cocos Beachside Restaurant and Captain Charlies Beach Bar will both close at 4pm daily. Please see segmented times for breakfast and lunch service noted above.


DINNER & BAR SERVICE AT JAKES: Full dine-in service, lounge, and fully stocked bar available at Jakes Island Grille from 5pm to midnight daily. Food and beverage bills can be signed to your guest folio. Table reservations are requested for dinner. 


ROOM SERVICE: Jakes Island Grille will open daily at 5pm to midnight. Dinner and drinks menu delivery service is available for all hotel guests. Food and beverage bills can be signed to your guest folio. Please see menu card (with downloadable menu QR codes) or dial extension #2346 for assistance and to place your order.


HOUSEKEEPING SERVICES: There will be no housekeeping service until your official second negative test result has been received. Guests are asked to kindly contact the Front Desk additional amenities are required during this time. Thereafter, limited daily housekeeping service will be provided and all amenities including beach towels will be placed in your guest room. Please note that you must be out of the room including the balcony/patio during service. Our housekeeping team will always be wearing a face shield and/or mask while cleaning the public areas as well as your guest room.


BELLMAN SERVICES:  Bellman services will not be available at this time.


CONCIERGE/ACTIVITIES DESK:  Our Concierge, Vaida Blades, is available to assist you Monday to Saturday from 8:30 am to 12 noon. Vai can assist you with information about car rentals, tours, sailing trips etc.


COCO EXPRESS GIFT SHOP: The hotel gift shop located in the lobby will be open 10am-2pm Monday to Saturday. It will be closed on Sundays. Please stop by to pick up resort wear, flip flops, sun cream, snacks, wine & spirits. Juanne will be happy to assist you.   


UPDATED TRAVEL PROTOCOLS (Effective 01-October-2020)

All persons will be required to fill out an online Embarkation Debarkation Card (ED Card)

The ED card will include a short health questionnaire & upload a negative results COVID test

The ED card is available to be completed before travelling online at

Barbados health officials will board the aircraft on arrival at Grantley Adams Airport 

Proof of certified PCR negative test result will be required before persons may disembark 

A negative PCR test result must be presented to the Barbados officials

**Very important** the test result must be taken and dated within 72 hours of arrival 

Persons without a valid PCR test result may be denied entry into Barbados

Persons will be required to go directly to Coconut Court Beach Hotel  

The second test will be administered free of charge, four to five days after the date of the first test 

This can be as little as two days after arrival in Barbados

The test will be administered by a local official at one of the governemnt clinics in our area

Test results will be issued within 24 hours 

Guests will be required to further self-monitor (twice daily temp. checks) for maximum of 14 days

After the second negative test result, guests can leave the hotel premises and enjoy the island

In the near future persons will be asked to use the BIM Safe app for contact tracing 



Due to ongoing uncertainty on travel restrictions we have temporarily waived cancellation fees for stays up to 23 December 2020. Guests booking via our website, telephone or email will be required to pay one night deposit to confirm booking. Your deposit is refundable (less 5% credit card processing fee) if cancelled 24 hours prior of scheduled arrival. During the temporary closure, we made the best use of our time, working on several significant property upgrades and improvements and we are looking forward to welcoming you back to Coconut Court Beach Hotel and our beautiful island in the sun Barbados, as soon as possible.



Dear Friends, we have always tried our best to offer thoughtful, convenient service and good value for money to all of our customers. For the past several years we have been providing free airport transfers, a free shopping shuttle service to Bridgetown and a complimentary bottle of Pirate Punch in all guest rooms on arrival. Unfortunately, present times dictate that we make some necessary changes to the way that we operate our business and sadly, we are no longer able to include these free services for our guests. That means that there will be no more free airport transfers, shopping shuttle or bottle of Pirate Punch provided for any guests booked to arrive after September 22nd, 2020. This policy applies for all guests, whether booked directly or via a tour operator. We are truly sorry but hope that everyone will understand and appreciate our reasons for making these changes.

We want you to know that, at Coconut Court Beach Hotel we take the health and safety of our guests and staff seriously so while you are away, we are working tirelessly to implement extensive new health and safety protocols to our operation. Some of our new protocols include: Temperature Checks: Required for all arriving guests. All staff will receive temperature and symptom checks before the start of each shift and periodically throughout the day. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): All staff will wear cloth face masks and/or face shields and other PPE as required while on duty.  Guests are encouraged to wear face masks when in proximity to other persons in hotel public areas. i.e. when unable to fully physically distance from others. Physical Distancing: Along with the sanitary measures in place across the property, new social distance guidelines will be introduced and adhered to in our hotel lobby, activities lounge, restaurants, bars, and beach areas. Public seating areas will also be reconfigured to accommodate physical distancing where neccessary. Cleaning & Sanitizing Protocols: Throughout the property, enhanced cleaning and sanitizing processes will be conducted with approved multi surface cleaners, disinfectants and equipment. Team members will be trained on the proper use of these chemicals and equipment to ensure effective cleaning. These protocols will include: Guest Rooms: The use of stringent cleaning protocols using hospital-grade disinfectants, and deep cleaning methods to clean rooms post departure, pre-arrival, and during stays, with particular attention paid to high-touch items. Public Areas: Sanitizer stations will be strategically located throughout the hotel. There will be increased cleaning and sanitizing of high contact items within public areas, for example, credit card machines, lounge chairs and restaurant furnishings. Areas such as the public bathrooms, and high-touch surfaces will be cleaned and sanitized on a scheduled basis throughout the day. Non-Guest Areas: Increased cleaning and sanitization of staff lunch rooms, staff bathrooms and administrative offices. etc.  Safety Signage: Signs will be prominently displayed throughout the property, to sensitize guests and team members on the health and safety best practices. Guests and team members will be encouraged to read and adhere to these practices.  COVID-19 Training: At Coconut Court Beach Hotel, we have long been aware of the importance of cleanliness and safety. All team members will receive thorough training on the new COVID-19 cleaning and safety protocols. This training will be ongoing.
